Wonderful mix of synthpop and dreamy darkwave...
Beautiful fresh sound, highly recommended !
September Falls in particular is a gorgeous song and is accompanied by a lovely fitting video.
Favorite track: September Falls.
It's with great pleasure we bring you our new EP "Otherworld"!
The title describes the emotions and dream like surrealism that have taken shape within the music and through the creative process the last two years.
With sweeping nods to wide screen synthpop, darkwave, and 80s vibes, new vocalist Mvrijo wraps her unique vocal sweetness over the entire affair, while Roland M layers in songs drenched in mood and dance worthy beats, while still feeling introspective and meditative.
Moving between "wave" genres, with rich vintage sounds, bold sonic scapes and beats, atmospheric guitar, and vocals that capture the bitter and the sweet. This is the most personal, emotional and driving release Violentene has done, after two years deep in the creative process.
Violentene has since moved on from prior chill/shoegaze sounds while keeping the aesthetic of previous EP’s "Phantom Youth" and "Denial". Alongside the announcement of the new release, the band has released two singles / videos - "Delusions" and "September Falls".
The five songs range from the intense, beat driven “Delusions” and “Dream To Live”, the ethereal and uplifting “Frontier”, to the nostalgic, sweeping, bittersweet “September Falls” and the dark, driving “Divide Between Us”. We put our hearts into this one, we hope you feel it!
xoxo
